Description
Maintenance¶
The SPS30 is designed to be maintenance-free due to its "sheath air" technology, which protects the optical components from fouling.
Automatic Fan Cleaning:¶
- The sensor features an internal cleaning routine that spins the fan to maximum speed for 10 seconds to blow out accumulated dust.
- Default Interval: Every 168 hours (1 week) of continuous operation.
- Power Cycles: If the sensor is turned off and on frequently, the internal timer resets to zero. In this case, you should manually trigger a cleaning cycle at least once a week.
Manual Cleaning: Manual cleaning is generally not required and should not involve opening the casing unless it has failed, as this can damage the internal HEPA filter or optical alignment.¶

The SPS30 will be permanently powered, so it should automatically clean once a week.
